Prime Backpackers Bournemouth isn’t shy when it comes too big, colourful artwork painted on our walls. From mermaid murals to beach huts and sea shells, meet our newest addition, the backpacking Frankenstein.

When hostler Franco Molina requested to do a fun, creative mural we jumped at the chance! and what better than a mural of one of our own, a hostler. Located in the chimney nook in the kitchen, creating that feel of him chilling inside his coffin, holding a camera ready as thought to take a photo of other hostlers passing by.

You’re probably wondering, why is a backpacking Frankenstein painted in our kitchen alcove? Well interesting enough, his creator, Mary Shelley, is buried in St Peter’s graveyard just over the road from Prime Bournemouth! You can visit her grave when you come to stay, and thanks to @artefrancomolina, her monster is coming back to life!

What really brings our undead hosteller to life, are our bright paints. We used local artist Stuart Semple’s paint, who is a famous British artist based here in Bournemouth. He crafts and sells paints in a fight against Anish Kapoor who, if you didn’t know, privatised his own colour, a very deep black (Vantablack). Many artists raised against this, with Semple stating “Anish can have his black. But the rest of us will be playing with the rainbow!”But tell us, what do you think of our Backpacking Hosteller? Don’t forget to follow our Frankenstein creator @artefrancomolina.
