Being in a capital city, it can be easy to forget that London is home to many big and beautiful green spaces. But in an area which is mostly a concrete jungle, it can be hard to know the best ones…so we’ve done the job for you…

1. Islington Green
Of course we had to mention our local, Islington Green. An easy 10 minute walk and a lovely pocket of green space to enjoy this summer sunshine. Back a blanket and a good book, and you’re ready to go! Get here.
2. Caledonian Park
Another local, and known for being the second-largest park in Islington, it’s also home of the famous, and beautiful Caledonian Clock Tower. A lovely picturesque spot, perfect for summer picnic and field games. Get here.
3. Isabella Plantation, Richmond
You won’t feel like you’re in London with this next pick! Full of rare and unusual trees and shrubs, the Isabella Plantation is a beautiful spot set in the depths of Richmond Park. 4. Primrose Hill

5. Highbury Fields
Currently standing as Islington’s biggest park, with its impressive 29 acres of green space to enjoy. But this is more than just a green space, in need of cooling off? Don’t worry it has its own pool! Plus a gym if you fancy a workout. What’s more, Highbury Fields also has its own barbecue area, making it a perfect pick for picnics. 6. St James’s park
Thanks to this park’s central location, you can enjoy incredible views of Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the London Eye and the Horse Guard’s Parade from The Blue Bridge. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, including the park’s famous pelicans. Get here.
