House Rules & Zero Tolerance Policy
We want everyone to feel safe, welcome and at home. A few clear rules keep our little community running smoothly.
At Prime Backpackers, we operate under a Zero Tolerance Policy. Any serious breach of these rules may result in immediate removal from the hostel without a refund and, where necessary, the involvement of the authorities.
We do not tolerate.
These behaviours put our guests, staff and community at risk — and will result in immediate action.
- Abuse towards staff or other guests (verbal, physical, or emotional)
- Threatening language or aggressive behaviour
- Harassment, intimidation, bullying, or discrimination
- Violence or damage to hostel property
- Theft or tampering with another guest's belongings
- Possession or use of illegal substances

When everyone respects the house rules, our community thrives.
Treat all staff and fellow guests with respect at all times.
Follow instructions given by hostel staff.
Respect quiet hours (11pm – 8am).
Keep shared spaces clean and tidy.
No smoking or vaping inside the building.
Be considerate when using shared facilities.
Keep noise to a minimum, especially at night.
Clean up after using the kitchen.
Store belongings responsibly and avoid blocking walkways.
Respect dorm etiquette — keep lights and noise low when others are sleeping.
Only registered guests are allowed inside the hostel and dormitories.
Report any maintenance or safety issues to reception.
Failure to follow the rules.
We keep it simple and fair. Any of the following may apply:
- Immediate eviction from the hostel
- Loss of deposit or applicable fees
- Permanent ban from Prime Backpackers
- Police involvement where appropriate

Age Policy
Prime Backpackers is designed for young travellers. We welcome guests aged 18 – 45 years old to keep our friendly, social atmosphere.
Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in: from 3:00 PM
Check-out: before 11:00 AM
Late check-out: until 1:00 PM (£10, subject to availability)
Early luggage storage is free while your room is prepared.
Quiet Hours
11:00 PM – 8:00 AM daily. Please keep noise low in dorms and shared spaces so everyone can rest.
Visitors Policy
Only registered guests are permitted inside the hostel and dormitories. Visitors may meet you in the reception lounge during opening hours but are not allowed in rooms or shared guest areas.
Alcohol & Drug Policy
Enjoy a drink responsibly in our common areas — no drinking in dorms. Illegal substances are strictly prohibited and result in immediate eviction and police involvement.
Cancellation Policy
Direct bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before arrival. Cancellations within 48 hours or no-shows are charged the first night. Third-party bookings follow the platform's terms.
Security Deposits
A refundable deposit may be requested at check-in to cover keys and potential damages. It is returned in full at check-out provided no rules are broken and no damages are found.
Lost Property
Found items are kept at reception for 30 days. Contact us with a description and we'll happily arrange return shipping at your cost.
Accessibility
Our building has stairs and limited step-free access. If you have specific mobility needs, please contact reception before booking so we can advise on the most suitable room.
Bike Rental Terms
Bikes are £5/day, subject to availability. A photo ID and deposit are required. You are responsible for the bike while in your care — please lock it whenever unattended and return it in the condition you received it.
Laundry & Kitchen Rules
Laundry: £6 per load, drop off at reception.
Kitchen: Please wash, dry and put away everything you use. Label your food; unlabeled items may be removed on cleaning days.
Wi-Fi
Free Wi-Fi throughout the hostel. Network: Prime Backpackers. Password: prime321.
Privacy & CCTV
CCTV operates in entrances and common areas for the safety of guests and staff. Cameras are not installed in dorms, private rooms or bathrooms. Footage is stored securely and only accessed when necessary. See our privacy notice at reception for details.
